National Coney Island/Take a Lions Player to School!!
Well it’s been another exciting year for National Coney Island’s “Take a Detroit Lions Player to School” contest that saw six (6) Metro Detroit students aged 6 -12 experience the thrill of meeting a professional football player and talking to them about a variety of issues in their own classroom at school.
We certainly had a lot of fun watching the kids interact with our Detroit Lions rookies, and we would again like to thank the Detroit Lions for their continued participation with National Coney Island on this great annual event.

November 11, 2008, Devantue Wilkerson, 11yrs old, 6th Grade at Detroit Service Learning Academy in Detroit, MI Devantue and his classmates were all ears and very attentive as Andre Fluellen #96 discussed the importance of staying in school and looking up to and respecting your parents.
